Rental Terms and Conditions

a | Holding the house while you make travel arrangements

If you have contacted us by phone or e-mail regarding availability and you plan to stay at Lavenda Breeze, you can ask us to "hold" a block of time for you while you make necessary travel arrangements. We will hold this block for only three days unless we have heard from you that you are still working on your plans and need more time. If others approach us during the period of time your dates are "on hold" we will contact you to see if you want to release the hold or to reconfirm your interest.

b | Deposit requirements

Once you have confirmed your travel plans and contacted us again, a deposit of 50 percent of the "total rent" is due within two weeks to secure your reservation. Reservations are still considered "on hold" until this deposit is received.

"Total rent" is considered to be the sum total of daily or weekly rental, plus 7% tax.

Payment can be made by wire transfer, personal check, money order, bank check, or other negotiable instrument in US funds only.

c | Balance of payment

The balance of the "total rent" due must be paid at least 90 days prior to arrival, if booking lead-time permits. Again, US funds are required.

d | Cancellations

Cancellations will be honored if made outside of 90 days prior to arrival date with a 20 percent administrative penalty of any monies for "total rent" already paid in.

In other words, if a deposit of $1,500 has been submitted on a "total rent" of $3000, a cancellation outside of 90 days prior to arrival will subject you to a $600 administrative penalty which will be deducted from the $1,500 deposit. Therefore, $900 will be returned to you.

Cancellations made within 90 days of arrival are subject to forfeiture of the entire rental payment received. If another booking replaces the cancelled one, we will refund the amount collected from the replacement booking for rent only up to an amount not greater than 80% of the previously paid total rent. We retain the right to rebook the dates at any rate we wish. If no other booking is secured, the entire "total rent" already paid will be retained by us.

e | Trip Insurance

Because of these stringent (but customary) cancellation policies, we strongly urge you to purchase trip cancellation insurance. This insurance will reimburse you if you need to cancel your trip due to illness or death of a close family member or for dangerous weather conditions. Some policies are more inclusive travel insurance policies which include medical insurance while you are away, car rental insurance, and medical emergency evacuation insurance. There are many companies online that sell this insurance, and we can help you locate some if you wish.

f | Hurricane policies

We do not give refunds for full or partial cancellations due to hurricanes or other severe weather (tropical storms or depressions) that may affect your trip. This is why we strongly urge you to purchase trip insurance to cover at least the cost of the villa rental.

If you wish to evacuate Anegada in the event of a storm, our local representative will make all efforts to assist you. Your safety is a primary concern to us. We will do everything we can to make sure you are fully informed of the progress of a hurricane or other named storm to allow you sufficient time to make plans.

If there is a hurricane or severe storm we will need to take certain measures to secure the buildings of Lavenda Breeze and this may temporarily curtail your enjoyment of the property. Clean-up from a hurricane will begin as soon as possible after such a storm, but we cannot guarantee that it will be immediate.

If there is extensive damage to Lavenda Breeze from a hurricane or storm that makes your continued stay there impractical, we will seek to find other accommodations for you on Anegada or you may terminate your rental. We will supply whatever support we can to you or your insurance company to assist in securing reimbursement for the unused portion of your trip.
